I can't find it anywhere and was just wondering. What does the moon calendar say will be the best time for hunting on opening day. I am in Foard Co.

I have hunted in that part of the world for the last 10 years, and generally speaking, the first full moon in November triggers deer movement, major rutting activity, etc... That being said, weather has a lot to do with it as well. We have a late October full moon this year and if the weather is right, you may see a great deal of pre rut or rut activity the early part of November, IF it is not 80+ degrees and windy. If the weather does not cooperate this year with some cool temps, I think we could have a long "trickle" rut starting late October and going well into December with the best time during the full moon phase of November. I have killed by biggest deer (170 to 190) right around the first full moon of November between noon and 4 pm in that part of the country. Hunt all day!

Deer don't read very well I have found. If deer are moving I am still hunting.
