What part of OK will you be hunting? I hunted north central just west of I35 and north of hwy 412 for 12 years, lots of BIG bodied deer in that area.

My brother lives at his inlaws out side of ft Towsen OK, but his FIL has leased the 250, when I did hunt it, keeping out the locals was a chore. Did hunt a lease near Shaddack (sp) OK. few but big deer.

This is my first year on a new property. Very good deer numbers, but size where I am at is nothing like I am use to in Kansas.

I've hunted at my dad's land in S.E. Oklahoma for the past few years, in Atoka County. From my experience, feeding and patterning the deer is the best bet during the first three weeks of October. The last week of October and first week of November are great times to use a buck decoy, rattle, and call. I've seen them come running full speed to rattling during that time, and even had them come in and challenge the decoy. During late season, it's just a matter of putting in the time in the stand. The local hillbillies will try to hunt your place if you don't watch out, and we have even had a storage building broken into and about $2,500 worth of equipment stolen. Other than that problem, the deer are nice. Does can be taken any day of the season at your choice, and mature bucks are there (but hard to catch in daylight).

I will be hunting a 350 acre tract that my buddy lives on. He feeds year round and has some good deer on camera. I'm not worried too much about poachers since he lives there. I will only be bowhunting this year. The place is in Push County just north of Hugo lake. Can't wait to be in the tree.

I grew up hunting in SE Ok, Pittsburg Co. and still try to make it over there during season when I can. Love that country and the deer numbers along with quality are pretty nice to say the least.

We kept it as a pet for several months until it got run over by a truck. Then we ate him.

I hunt during the week of thanksgiving every year in NE Ok near Tahlequah. Lots of pressure from locals and sounds like World War III during rifle season around there. I hear there are some brutes running in those hills but haven't connected on one yet.

I like to canoe and fish the river east of town in Tahlequah. The scenery is awesome.
