I could care less about the show, but the man preaches a great sermon.

I'm sure a lot of people care. In today's society, more people have probably heard of Jase and Duck Dynasty than DU and Delta combined. They have probably exposed more people to the concept of duck hunting than anything else.

My wife loves the show and has never pulled the trigger on anything. She likes the family and they all hang out together and share something in common which is lacking in todays society.

I dare someone to take his hat off and throw it.

Duck Commander became a gimmick this year. Before they were intriguing because of there approach to duck hunting. Now they do fake acting to make money. Call them the redneck Kardashians.

Hey we were all beginners at one time man, there's nothing wrong with new guys starting out wether it be from seeing a tv show or however. With all the anti hunter groups I think we need as many new hunters on our side as we can get so I don't mind all the new guys. If anything help them out and give them advice.

That show is silly, stupid and fake, but very entertaining when i am totally wasted. That being said, im off for some doveaction.

Absolutely.

The only thing good about exposing more folks to the Robertson clan is that they get to sell more videos, calls, tee shirts, and $75 aprons etc. Not to mention the money from the show.

It is just a huge marketing gimmick and they are riding this wave all the way to the bank.....and I don't blame them.

Expecting that duck hunting will somehow be better off since millions watch the show in naive.

And yes I do not like to see noobs in duck hunting. Hunting pressure has increased 10 fold in the last ten years thanks to many different reasons....TV shows and College DU chapters to name a couple of the worst.

More ducks + less water access + more duck commander wanna be's = crowded lakes. Maybe when the show folds it will get better. They are geared to the 20 something crowd. I remember when they came to the DU Expo they barely had 40 people waiting to see them.

If we could somehow limit duck hunting to experienced hunters only there would be fewer new hunters to contend with and the sport could die off with dignity...

Absolutely not.

The most ducks I've seen in my lifetime was in the years '98-'02 era. It has been a steady decline with small ups and downs ever since.

Remember the cover of Wildfowl last Fall? it said: "Here They Come!"

Delta said it was the "Year of the Duck"

Guess what, they never came.....supposedly due to warm weather, plenty of food, no snow, etc (I believe that it was because they do not exist, but thats for another argument)

Duck counts and breeding ground surveys mean dick to us on the southern end of the flyway.
