Sorry I live in the sticks with no home computer lol. Hard to even get phone signal sometimes. I'm gonna have to go with a stand alone system and thought a game cam might be the easier and cheaper way out.

I have a stand-alone system that uses cameras and a dedicated DVR box. The cameras are routed to our TV's. We are able to view what's going on outside and the DVR is triggered by motion at the cameras. Cameras are color and I/R. Whole thing ran about $700. Don't know how much area you are looking to cover, but enough game cams to cover what this system does would probably be more expensive.

Is your system wired or wireless cameras? What brand and does it provide clear video?

It's wired. I think the DVR is Lorex, not sure about the cameras. The video is Hi Def and very good.
