 Success on Trophy Red Stag

Went on a 4 day hunt with Lake Creek Ranch up in the panhandle of Texas for a Red Stag hunt and the below picture was the result. This hunt was probably the toughest hunt I have been on in Texas as the stags refused to come out of the mesquite. They have just started their rut by fighting and bellowing and have even started breaking off tines. This guy is 8 1/2 years old and to me is a true trophy.

I hunted with Lake Creek Ranch which is outside of Claredon or southeast of Amarillo. They do management hunts which are usuall 6x6, management trophy and trophy hunts. They have the best red stag genetics in Texas and are very reasonably priced. I saw several stags which would push 440 inches, this stag is right at 350 and quarted meat at 269 pounds. All of their animals are born and raised on the ranch and they also do whitetail hunts.

I live 50 miles from the said area and I have not heard of this ranch. I am wondering if it borders the J-J (J bar J) ranch? I am also interested in their contact info.

That's a great place. I run all the hunting on the ranch just to the North. Jim J and his staff are great people. I used to do alot of bird hunts on their ranch. Congrats on a great stag.
