This is a pic of the Army's newest shotgun the M26 not gonna give out a ton of info on it b/c it is FOUO (for official use only) but you can find lots on google about it so obviously its not a secret. Got some hands on training with it today it seems like a pretty solid 12 gauge that can be used as a primary weapon or attached to an M4. This shotgun is only available to Military and from what the guy said thats not gonna change any time soon.

They might have made the worst possible choice in barrels (in barrel length, anyway).

Its mainly meant for door breaching so no need for a longer barrel. Designed to attach to bottom of primary weapon such as M4 so you can breach a door and go straight to you primary weapon.

They announced it would be available for civilian purchase in the near future, definition of near may vary since that was a year ago

I saw that on Sons of Guns LOL. Seems like it would make the battle rifle almost too unwieldy for door breaching and room clearing.

Pretty cool, but doesn't look much different than a Saiga.

So it's a manually operated shotgun, that is not as easy to operate as a normal pump....but at least it will be easier to deal with when using a primary weapon.
In God we trust, all others get run through TCIC. Prior Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance. Lack of Planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.

Solution to a problem that doesnt exist?
What does this do that a M500 or M870 cant? Other than a detachable mag.

Its a heck of a lot shorter and lighter than the Mossberg 500s we got in the arms room and keeps the breach guy from needing to cary 2 weapons shotgun/M4

Also there is a pistol grip for it basically the whole shotgun is about 15 in long with pistol grip and can still be used for breaching.

Sounds like Sapper Titan has some knowledge on this matter, yet people still question him. If he has been there, done that. It's good enough for me.

No kidding..... let me see some of you guys blast away at a door to get it open, while there's someone on the other side with a full auto. Then we'll see out fast you can pump that Mossberg or drop it and switch guns.
