Scouted 6 different spots today, first 5 spots and walking about 5 miles, no ducks. I was really about to give up but last spot I got to, I did not see any ducks and was not expecting to see any at this point, pulled out the binoculars and wow saw a pair flying. Scan a little more and saw some pretty good numbers of teal bathing and splashing around, really cool to see. Took some crappy pics, this was this best one can barley even see them on the right on shore.



Sun was so bright I could not even see the pic I was taking, that is full zoom. I wanted to hike around and get some better pics but I was worn plum out and so was molly. It was good to get her out in the field, her first trip out since her injury beginning of year....

Did you shoot the hog?

No, I did not have a gun. Those hogs freaked me out, I never been that close to them. I’m not a hog hunter. I have seen hogs out duck hunting before, normally far away I see them. And I have heard them a lot. But when I stepped into this area, I heard them all around me rustling in the brush, and I must admit I was a little sckarty cat . Then I saw one about 10 yards away, I growled at it trying to scare it off, and it did not scare off at all, then he and his little buddy walk right out in front of me. So I took that pic, but those were some baby hogs and I suspected mom hog was around, and I could hear some loud snorts and rusting in the brush, so I decided to just moonwalk on out of there.. On my way back to the truck, I see these 2 bow hunters walking back as well, I asked them if they seen any, they said no, so I told them where I saw these hogs, and they took off after them. I bet those hogs were still there, they were not going anywhere and they were not afraid of humans.

I bet some of you guys would have pulled out your buck knife and jumped on them hogs and stabbed them to death.

That is more than I saw.

Next time bring a little something something to smack a pig. On the other hand, I've taken that walk with you and carrying a hog would be a real pain......
