I deal with snakes daily during the summer months it's just part of the job. Rattlers eat lead or get to do the slide and grind under the tires. All other snakes get a pass, even to the point of almost going off the road to miss them.

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

You might want to lay off the drugs a bit they are effecting your ability to use the quote function.

I know! That's what I was thinking. I screwed everything up. Stupid cell phone started freaking out! Lol!!

The first step is acknowledging that you have a problem.

Poisonous, venomous...aren't we splitting hairs a bit?

Between my Cat Killing Thread in the photo section and now this I am beginning to think a bunch of PETA infiltrators are here!! Now mind you, I do not kill ANY snake unless it is in a bad spot that will result in danger to the kids, lease members or live stock.....thus, they have as much right to dispatch the "alleged hostile snake" as I did the destructive cat. Are you saying this doesn't look anything like a copperhead? Tell you the truth, that is the only reason why i shot it. It showed up 5 feet in front of me, saw the color, gun in hand, shoot. No, I am not a snake expert. I rarely see snakes.

The beagle is for sale, if you're interested. He's a drug sniffing dog.

I'm kind of partial to the corgi but for the right price he could be yours. Remember when you bid these dogs have been trained by 341st TRS.

Thank you for your time

Anytime we saw a bullsnake as a kid, we would put it in our barn to help keep the rat population down. Good snake.

I like rats and mice at my ranch. That is what keeps the bobcats and foxes around which I hunt and trap. Thus that snake is harmful to me.

To who? I manage everything on my ranch including snakes. If it's a good year for rats and mice (they are running around everywhere) I will leave snakes alone. If it's an average or bad year year for them....the hogs get free snake dinners.

If managing for deer, wouldn't you want all snakes, mice, yotes and cats gone? (excludes king snakes, those are just cool earth worms)

It was a bullsnake, not a ratsnake. I am so pleased to finally see some voices of reason around here regarding snakes. Absolutley no need to kill every snake you happen across in the field. Simply walk around them if you don't like them. I will bet you any money if you leave them alone, they will leave you alone.
