This snake showed up 5 feet in front of me while i was dove hunting. Didn't take much time to aim and shoot. I didn't know if it was a rat snake or what? It was right at 5 foot long.

BULL SNAKE.... makes me sad that some people, just have to kill snakes, just because they're snakes.

I would call it a rat snake. I think it is the same as a bull snake. Either way, not poisonous. I kill every poisonous snake I see, let the other ones go. They help keep rats and mice in check. No reason to kill them.

I found 3 of them in my office in Haltom City, good or bad snakes belong outside not the inside. Dead now!

I'm not mad that you killed the snake. However, that was one of the GOOD snakes alive. Those snakes usually won't even get aggressive with you, they usually take the "flight" path. Great for eating mice and other small rodents. I have caught a relocated quite a few of those types of snakes.

Seriously...quit killing snakes "just cuz"...there are only 3 snakes in these United states that are going to bite and invenomate you IF they dont try to get away from you first. Rattlers..well all know what they look like because they have rattles..hard to miss...Copperheads...no other snake even close to that color...and cotton mouth/water moccassin....bright white inside of mouth and usually in very close proximity to water.....yeah yeah yeah Coral Snakes...but if you actually encounter one I'll buy you dinner. There is NO reason to lop off the head or shoot any other snake.

I agree...but you owe me dinner. Encountered a couple of corals.

I hate a yellow belly water snake and the bite might as well as be venomous. Nasty critters and infection will set in quick.

x2, And I'm craving a steak from Papa's Bros. Find about one a year and usually in a ground scrape.
