Buy a midlength spikes upper, you can find right now if you look
and then buy or build a lower to your needs

I built a gun just like you want.
I got a 20" Palmetto State Upper with a 1/7 twist to handle heavier bullets better
I got a RRA lower with a full A2 buttstock and a 2 stage match trigger.
it shoots sub 1/2 MOA with my own loads, 60gr V Max and XBR powder
its a pig killer for sure and I plan to head shoot a few doe with it this year

clip? Mine uses magazines any Milspec lower will hold any AR milspec magazine. from 5 rounds up to as big as they come. I have many 30 rounders for SHTF, but I prefer hunting with a 20, you can get a better rest without all of that mag sticking out

how much money do you have in yours and will ars shoot fmj or is that ak only sure it shoots FMJ, I just don't load or shoot FMJ that much here is your lower http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=304314818here is your upper http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php...-hpt-upper.htmlmake sure to get a 5.56 chamber so you can shoot .223 or 5.56 you can get your 2 stage RRA trigger just about anywhere for $90 shipped. also, if your gonna night hunt with a light, you might want a true flat top, the XLR 250 I have reflects a little off the front post, but it's not really an issue. I like the option of taking the optics off and going to BUIS if need be

If you want to build a cheap plinker you can get a SurPlus Ammo lower and Delton or Model-1 kit and be ~$700

I'll pass on that. I think I'll stick with a standard reciever.

Here ya go: Complete Upper $409 - Complete lower $220 - Order them on two different orders to avoid the fed tax. Throw in a $15 Magpul mag. $629 + $15 for mag + $10 FFL transfer $645 ready to shoot!

Where you getting a $10 ffl transfer at? That is what my guy here in Rockwall charges. Quick search out your way turned up a few: Michael Windham Cedar Hill Firearms 460 CR 2375 Saltillo, TX 75478 $10 long gun fee

I will highly suggest that you get p-mags rather than the metal mags. The metal ones work but are VERY noisy while out hunting. Nothing will ruin a hunt quicker that something banging against a hollow metal tube .......well except maybe velcro.
