I was pissed yesterday when I went in to get a drop away to replace my whisker bisquit and every one I tried wouldn't work cause the Tec Riser got in the way of the rest string. Anybody know a good drop away that will work on a Hoyt? Got the 06 trykon by the way.

Limbdrivers will work and if I am not mistaken Vital bow gear makes a drop away specifically for Hoyt as well. I'd also look into the NAP Flipper rest as it drops away, but does not use a string tied to the cables. Check out Archery Talks classifieds section. There are pages and pages of stuff for sale every day.

And when all else fails................put a Bodoodle on it.

FWIW I am not telling you not to look at the limbdriver rest, but I do think you should look at one and decide for yourself on them. I have heard either rave reviews of them or others hate them. I have heard no in between reviews and that scares me. I have seen them in action myself and even shot one. personally I wouldn't own one, but thats my opinion. I guess what I am going the long way around the barn to say is...........I would make sure you SHOOT every rest you can. Don't just look at it and try to decide.........don't end up with a drawer full of rests that you are not happy with like someone I know............

Why wouldn't you shoot a limbdriver?

They do make a left hand. I can get you one, but they are on back order right now. $41.99 + tax

I use a trophy ridge on my 06 Trykon XL. I absolutely love it.

I shot one on an 82nd airborne (I think) and I did not like the way that the launcher layed flat on the shelf when the bow was at rest, and it also made a twang noise when it was shot. I like the fact that it does not attach to the cables so there should never be any timing issues on binary cam bows with it.

The way that the re3st works is that when the bow is aat rest a string is attached to the upper limb and it is tight and it keeps the rest down. Once the bow is drawn the string loosens and a spring attached to the launcher pushes the rest in the up position.

I have also read some reviews that the string was coming into contact with the cable slide on some BowTech models.

From what I have seen and what little I have messed with them they are probably the easiest drop away rest to tune and set up. If I am not mistaken there is a short setup video on Vapor Trails website. Easy setup and tuning are sure nice features for someone that wants to do their own tuning And it will be a lot easier to do field repairs shoud the string break in the field than a convntional drop away rest.

But the fact that the launcher sits flat on the shelf is the number one reason that I do not like that particular rest.

I have gotten away from dropp aways and gone to shooting all Bodoodle rests. I have zero complaints from them and am actually gettin better accuracy at 40 + yards than I was with the drop aways I was using.

I have a limbdriver on one of my bows and have no complaints. I put a arrow holder on the shelf so that the arrows stays put when not being drawn.

I kinda figured that when you asked why I wouldn't have a Limbdriver...........

I had one of those and after a while the rubber wore out and the arrow didn't atay in it so well.

I use a RipCord. It works great and fits on my Razortech just fine.

I have a Trykon and have a Kazaway rest by Vital Bow Gear. It is great and I wouldn't trade it for anything else. You should take a look at it.
