might want to take a look at you firing pin on your gun. Buy anouther box and see. If its ammo im sure you can get a free box if you let winchester know. Im sure they want to know whats goin on as well I agree. Now on the lighter side, "bad ammo" is always on my list of the most common excuses you'll hear to protect the male ego from a miss. It often comes right after another favorite - wasps.

Top pic shows good firing pin impact dent to the primer. Bottom pic impact dent is marginal. I'm assuming the bottom pic is the dud round. Both primers appear flush seated so this has some concerns about the rifle. Like I said before, try another brand of ammo and see if the problem continues. If so, something is wrong with the firing pin/spring assembly or your not completely closing the bolt on your rifle. If not, then you got a bad batch of Winchester rounds or your rifle doesn't seat the round well when chambered. Weapons will shoot better with different types of OAL/brass/bullet weights/powder charges/primers. That is why I reload my own. I have narrowed down the ingredients for the most accurate fail safe bullet for my rifle.

PS...I once did own a Remington BDL in .30-06. I remember it was a two locking lug bolt. I also remember that it was possible to not completely close the bolt any yet still fire the weapon. Try working the bolt to the furthest back position when chambering new rounds (don't do a shortened version of rechambering). This will ensure you engage the firing pin sear correctly and fully compress the firing pin spring. Make sure your bolt is completely closed with the bolt throw completely down.

Did you clean the rifle completely BEFORE you took it to the range the first time? Also check the firing pin and hole for burrs or rough spots that may hinder the free movement. It could also be a bad/weak hammer spring. Please keep us updated on how this problem is fixed.

Back when Browning first came out with the A-bolt's they had a similar problem. Some rounds would fire as normal and some would not. It was determined that it was a weak firing pin spring. They replaced the spring free of charge.

I didn't clean it the first time I shot it but before the second go round I pulled the firing pin didn't seem to have any burrs or anything I'm gonna call remington and see what they will do for me
