Are you guys seeing more of these this year? On opening morning, we had 11 hunters and got about 90 birds. But, out of those birds, most were ringnecks. I don't think there was a limit of mourning and white wings between us. We hunted near Tuscola.
You guys seeing the same?

We've been shooting all Mourning doves, with just a few whitewings here around Ft Hood.

If you leave a wing on the eurasian collared doves, they will not count as part of your daily bag limit. But only if the game warden can tell it is a collared dove. If you leave just a breast you may as well count it, cause the G.W will. Good Hunting and fair winds.

Most of you guys are seeing the same thing we have typically seen in years past. This year was just strange with that many ring necks.
Last night my son and I hunted a different part of the property and all the doves harvested there were mourning dove.
I don't mind shooting the ring neck's....bigger bird and I can't tell any difference in taste. They're all good wrapped in bacon!

Shot a limit in Hondo. Out of 6 hunters I was the only one with a ring neck. They are definetely bigger birds. All of the dove were white wings which was nice. Good to know about leaving a wing so they don't count towards your limit.

Here's half of the ring necks we killed on Sat afternoon not 5min after I took the pic 2 more hunters came up with about the same amount of ring necks I believe we got around 30 ring necks over 2 days.
No doubt about the AR crap, just damn shame hunters don't have self control and knowledge

My son and I had some success opening weekend, all were Mourning dove, except 2 which were bigger and lighter in color. I assume they were the Eurasian...
