This season I will probably carry a Ruger R22 that I picked up earlier this year.
I have a concealed carry license just so I can carry a handgun during bow season.
Unfortunately, 90% of the time I forget to pack the gun.
Mathews Z7 Bow for Whitetail and Hogs Remington R-15 .223 REM for predators I also like to "hunt" sporting clays with my Benelli SuperSport!

Beretta PX4 storm, 9mm or my 40. whatever I grab off the dresser that AM. But never forget it in the last 3 years after walking in the dark with the light off to smell pigs really bad and hit the light and there they were bedded down about 10-15 yards from the base of my stand. Yep had to change my drawers that morning when the spooked after the light hit them.

Ive never carrried a fire arm when im bow hunting but theres been a few times it would of came in handy. Was turkey hunting one spring and was walking in some trees. Came around a cedar tree and a 175lb boar was laying under it. Was about 8ft from me luckly I had an arrow noked already. Drew about arrow fell off the rest got it back on and finally shot him.
Was elk hunting a couple years ago with a friend in Colorado. Two days after I left he spotted some elk in a meadow. He was walking along the trees and just happened to look over and seen a mountain lion about 25 yards from him in the trees, stalking him.Buddy said he drew back and just shot. Said he hit him in the chest high but couldnt ever find him.

There will never be a time that I dont carry while bowhunting... I'm not going unarmed into land that can have armed illegals coming through without anything other than a bow on me. give me a ticket I'll gladly pay it for my own safety
