Walmart has some good prices, for Abilene anyway. $22 for a 100ct box of 12ga 7-1/2 shot. They were selling fast. Had to wait an hour and a half for my license, but I got it finally.

It took the south side store forever to put out shells. North side had them at least a week a head. I saw the line at the south side store and just shook my head. Maybe it's just me but I get mine as soon as they go on sale

I actually bought the Winchester super x at academy for $4.49 which you would get a better deal and an extra box for the same price.

Dicks has the Winchesters for $22.98 a 100. I got a 12 and a 20 just cause I had some rewards cash to use up.

Those Winchester universals are probably some of the worst shells on the market.

Dicks in Dallas has the Remington Heavy Dove 1 1/8 oz at that price. $22.98 for 100. Not bad.

I don't know how you come to that conclusion, every round I chambered fired, and killed the birds without any problems. That's all I can ask for. I can't see paying more to acheive that. If a guy wants to pay a bunch of money for the exact same results, and even though it doesn't make much sense to me, I guess that is his prerogative.

The Outdoor Annual has a coupon for $10 off 50 at Dicks, and they will give you one at the register if you ask for it.

I can live with that.

The $10 off coupon I had said no ammunition on it.

The conclusion is based on the cheaper in the Winchester universals. The hulls are thin, it has a steel top not brass and the wads are poor. Take one apart. On top of that I've heard of people using them and having cycling issues.

For the same price you can actually get better shells. I agree that you don't need to pay top dollar to get shells that work but when you can pay the same for better shells like the Remington's mentioned, the Federals that Walmart also sells for the same price and even Rios when you get them on sale...then you should.
