I was wondering if I trap some hogs and some of them are under the weight limit, can they process them for me to cook and sell to the public like a corner BBQ guy?

Ok, so I would have to get the hogs inspected by at least the state and when they give it there stamp, then I can? If this is correct, how much is it to have the meat inspected, does any one know? Thank you for your input and answers, I don't want to break laws.

Better hope no one gets sick. Any meat sold as a consumer product must be inspected by USDA. You have to have a licensed slaughter plant inspected daily.

Oh no, I'm not doing it now. I am working in Afghanistan as a contractor, I was medically retired from the U.S. Army and now back serving my country as a civilian contractor repairing battle damaged vehicles and getting the war fighters back in the action. What I'm doing is researching so when I come home for good in 2013 I can start my own hog trapping business. I am just looking at other ways to use the hogs for money because I love to hunt and trap, and cook most of what I get. And I am a pretty fair cook from what all my neighbors say. Any ideas?

Sell the hog cleaned. Gutted or whatever you want to call it. Sell the service not the actual hog,get what I am saying.

Look up Copfaqs.com. 019 selling uninspected or suspicious meat is a "serious" offense
