30 yr old 12ga 870, never cleaned once. Little WD40, some cheap game loads, light head wind, and some low flying doves and it can't get any better.

December 25th 1977, Unwraped a brand new S&W 1000 in 12Gauge. Its the gun if I wanted to show off my shooting talents this would be it. Thousand of boxes have gone thru it in 31 years and only see use now every opening day of Dove season. If not give me any model 870 with 28" non vented modified barrell and that will suffice

I have a picture of me holding it after unwrapping it but it is a polaroid (maybe can figure a way of scanning it). Man I sure had some long back then.

20 Ga, and that is JMO, but I still use the old 16 Ga a couple trips a year. Just can't leave it out, it's been with me for over 40 years now.
Team Hillbilly I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left. Paralyzed Veterans of America

LOL..but honestly I'd say it depends on what you want and who you are. I'd say a 20 would give you more of a challange and often less recoil. You could probably shot better and kill more with a 12. But then again you can shot 7/8oz loads from a 12ga which would be the same as a 20ga only it patterns better and recoil would be the same depending on weight of the gun of course.
Dear Lord please bullwhip me for saying this but I agree, Marcstar is in the lead. Please nobody use this as a quote!!!

Try that with a 24, 28 or 410 and go for a challenge. Maybe I shouldn't have sold my 24ga a few years back. It was a really fun O/U to shoot.
