So I went over to Weber's today...gun shop here in Temple. Todd Weber helps with our DU event and of course does all the gun stuff. Anyway we were picking out some guns for the event in addition to the guns we already ordered through DU. We picked everything out and we were at budget and then I was like...we need a small gauge shotgun...what do you have in a 28ga. We looked at a few and nothing really stood out...then we came to the Benelli Ultra Light. Wow the name says it all...I had to buy it...at just 4.9 lbs. I really want to keep it but obviously it's for the event. I think that will be the next gun I'm going to lust over for a while.

Yeah I screwed up and didn't do a really good deal on an ultra light a few years ago.

A 28g ultralight is awesome. I think DU banquet donors should be the only ones eligible to win laugh

That's a good store. Like the people and he stocks Rios too.

Yeah he has the 1 1/4oz 1330 Texas whatever they are called Rio loads. Very much overkill but whatever. I had a 50 gift cert so I bought a couple boxes as well as some .9mm Home Defense rounds and one box of 2 3/4" steel loads I'm going to use on the teal.

Oh Dave you will certainly be eligible (when you buy raffle tickets).

Oct 3rd 6pm see details here: http://www.ducks.org/texas/events/29138/centex-annual-banquet-temple

I'll say this though....this is my 5th and final year as area chair...I've been saying that for like 3 years but I actually have a sucker...I mean great person to take over for me. So with that in mind I'm going to make it extra fun this year...in addition to that gun there are going to be a few ARs, the DU 75th Anniversary Gun of the Year...a very pretty engraved Browning Maxus. I'm also going to have 5 Yeti coolers that will will be taken home by lucky attendees. Tons of other guns, gear, art, etc. Cyclone BBQ and Beer with entry...plus the standard door prizes.

There is time, and you must take it, to lay your hand on your dog's head as you walk past him lying on the floor or on his settle, time to talk with him, to remember with him, time to please him, time you can't buy back once he's gone" GBE
