We have tried it all and no luck keeping them from stealing our corn. So we bought winch up feeders, changed them all to 12V units and put on the eliminator plates. We are hoping we have won the battle. For now anyway...
I don't smoke ,so I can't say but I highly doubt it. I do know a loud fart works! I think they like the smell plus I guess they think it's a buck grunt. _________________________

You should see a decrease in problems but to win the battle you have to thin the pop of coons down.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

Yeah they are pretty rough on your feed. Use the dog proof traps under the feeders and don't worry. I have caught coons under the feeders and had 9 deer eating with them. Just go on and go hunting and take the coon out when you get done. The deer will be back and never pay any attention to it.

That is a great trap but there really isn't a need to put it right under the feeder. You can place 10yds away or so and you will be fine.
You can also preemptively trap along creeks and tanks in your area to help knock the numbers down.
Stay after it, they can come back on you pretty quick if you don't stay on top of it.
I didn't learn this by seeing it on TV, I learned it by doing it.

I've used Dr. Pepper and it did work. Don't know why Coke wouldn't.

I am using the dog proof traps right now. I am getting about 2 a day. I am using marshmallows in the traps. I have 3 traps about 10-20 yards away from the feeders and the deer can care less that one is caught up in them, or the other coons for that matter.

PVC on my feeder legs has worked 100% for me as to keeping them from getting to the spinner plate. Keeping them from the corn on the ground is different..

I can keep them from my spinner but them bastages are eatin corn on the ground and using up battery life on my cams. To the tune of 10-14 of em at a time. I want them dead, dead, dead. Im gonna try the coke route and see how it works, if not it will be coke mixed with golden maltrin.

I have used conibear traps, the duke traps as well as live catch traps. They are all fairly effective. The conibears are not dog proof and requires a little strength to set, which is their down sides. I would say try the duke dog proof traps. I also enjoy taking the kids out to shoot the coons, especially if we can get them to tree. Cheap effective rifle practice and the kids enjoy it.
I did try the carpet tack strips on the feeder legs, apparently the coons at my feeders don't have feeling in their feet. The scaled the legs even quicker.

Good ole .22, was at the lease this weekend. Had a powerful flashlight and a .22. Before all was said and done, 8 coons down!
