What do you guys use in the field to carry your shotgun shells around. Has anyone used the bandolier shell holders, are they worth it.

I've used one before. Moisture gets on the shells is a downside that I've seen. Easier to keep in the box.

for dove or duck? if its duck i use the shell pouch that hooks to your waders, i wouldnt use anything that is by your waist or on your shoulder, the waist ones get wet then you got rusted shells, the shoulder ones to me are just something else to try and keep up on your shoulder with a gun a bag of decoys its just a pain more hands free the better, dove hunting i just have a camo bag i take out put by my chair and your done

I havent really found anything i like yet. I have the bandolier too and agree with trout killer. I bought one of these last year and do not like it either. works ok with 2.75 and 3 inch shells (although they are loose) ..but the 3.5 inch shells fall out too easy. I have to put them in inverted just to keep them from falling out. (and the exposes the ends to rain...which i dont like) Lost a number of shells last year to tick me off. so i will be just keeping them in the box in my bag from now on as well as a stock shell holder.

I just use the nylon belt one similiar to the one in the first pick for dove/quail and pheasant hunting. Love the quick access to my shells.

For dove I use a three pouch game/ammo belt. Each of the side pouches holds a full box of shells. Just dump them in. The rear pouch holds birds. For ducks, I usually just sit the box next to my seat in the blind or boat.

If wearing cargo pants I just put em in my pocket or a 5 gallon bucket with everything else. If its duck hunting they stay in the blind bag or pockets of my jacket. I've used the one in the first pic quite a few times and it does the job.

I use one like spacemonkey posted, but I never, ever wear it. Usually hang it on a branch next to me.
I also have a small one on the buttstock that holds 5 shells. If I take off from my bag for any reason, I always have at least 8 shells, the three in ky gun and 5 on the stock. Also super handy for quick reloads, and swatting crips. Never have to fumble around for a shell in the heat of the moment.

Dove = strap vest and two boxes of shells
Ducks = coat pockets and about 20 rounds
Thought for the day: Ducks were almost hunted to extinction long before camo was invented.

that's I exactly what I was looking for...Thanks I kind of figured this would hit the mark. Awesome shell access and protection. You will need to supply the belt. I use the green nylon belt (wide) I got off a shell bag that failed the dirt test... and wear it like a cowboy holster belt. If you look at the belt loop in the pic you'll notice a little velcro strip. That will adhere to a nylon belt to keep it from sliding back and forth on your belt.

I use the 3 pouch strap vest. I tried the 3 pouch belt one year and got tired of having to pull my pants back up. That is when I went to the strap vest so my shoulders could support the weight and not my hips. Much more comfortable if I have to walk a ways to get to the field I am hunting.
