Standing at 15 yard I stood a ball point pen up on its end and with one shot I destroyed it, there was only shards left!
It's a 44 magnum most powerful handgun in the world, do ya feel lucky punk?

My best shot was hitting a flying dove when I was 12. We were hunting squirrels and a dove flew by the tree and I popped him. My brother shot a dove on a high-wire shooting "Rifleman style" from the hip. We both paid the price for shooting a game bird out of season and for shooting at a bird on the power line. My dad made it uncomfortable for us to sit for a while , and we lost our gun priviledges for a month.

A good open sighted .22 is a must in any gun collection. Anyone can be an "exhibition shooter" fooling around in the back yard with a brick of .22. With my Ruger 10/22 and Winchester 67, I show off if I can when shooting with friends by shooting strands of sewing thread, toothpicks, and splitting cards. At longer ranges we have shot eggs with open sighted .22's out to >150 yards. I will admit, not always a hit on the first shot...or magazine...

Ok probably not the safest thing in the world to do but during the day at the deer lease last year we wired up shotgun sells on the fence and got back about 40 yards and shot the primer. I finally got smart about it and cut the ends of the shotgun shell off and empty the lead out. does't sound that hard, but we were using pistols. Browning buckmark. I can promise you there were no one shot hits.

When I was 12 or so I shot my 1200 lb. roping horse in the arse with a 22 short that was on safety at 30 yards. Hurt my arse worse than it did his.

Spotlighting in college. Told a buddy I could shoot a jackrabbit in the ear. He said no way I could do it. Squeezeed the trigger rabbit ran 20 yards shaking his head. Buddy said I missed. I said no way so I had to kill it to prove it. Nice clean ear piercing through the center of his ear. LOL. Cut the ear off an kept it for a few years. Lost it somewhere along the way.

After a day working to prepare for a reunion, we were leaving the ranch after dark. Snakes were out and one crawled into the weeds just ahead of us. All I had was my .22 so I shot in amongst the weeds and grass. Finally got the spot light out and I hit him twice with one shot. Blind shot for sure. Rather be lucky than good any day.

Shooting sweet gum balls swinging in the wind off of the sweet gum trees in East Texas at 50 to 60 yards. It how I learned to shoot and how we practiced.
Work hard, play hard, love without reserve....you can rest in heaven when the journey is over.
