Same here, have had a couple people ask me about those rifles.

Leftlane if you get one of the Ruger American rifles, how about a review from someone that owns one. Thanks.

It's a relatively new rifle, so there are going to be alot more people who have handled it, studied it, but haven't fired it. Keep in mind that there is still alot to be learned based on other relevant and constant data in order to determine whether it would be a good buy or not.
If you're looking for someone to "tell you what to do", that's one thing, but I doubt that's the case. It will come down to a decision that you, yourself, have to make. Experts in the field and well educated individuals such as myself and many others, can offer highly relevant information and ideas to consider. For example, Ruger makes some of the best products overall, so plus one for Ruger. It feels cheaper than other Ruger models, well, that's something else to consider. This example and many like it are ways that can help you determine if it's the right choice for you. Even if we have all fired the rifle and love it, does that mean that someone else automatically will fell the same way? maybe, maybe not. In that case, hands on experience with rounds down range is no more or less valuable than a detailed analysis based solely from relevant information.

After reading this whole thread, I think I'll take a nap. By the way, al I've heard and read about the American has been very good. Yeah it maybe ugly, but I'm willing to bet it's a good shooter. If you buy one please post a review.

Well I have the Ruger American,an it was sorta a time with the scope rings. I bought Weaver rings at Wal-Mart. Some way the first set had a bad screw . Anyway went back an they gave me another set. Me an this other Old Fart went down to the river an shot it 6 times. I hit 2 at 100 yrds I can cover up with a Quarter. He said I got to go. Were in his truck so we came home. I cleaned it an said If I can shoot that close I hate to think how good People that can shoot do. I wound up Paying 319.00 +tax. With my 60$ Bushmaster Scope form !st Monday Trade Days on it I am going to go work on a boat. This rifle is alot of fun to shoot. Has almost no recoil ,some say it feels or looks cheep. Well Sir it IS. But I never had a Deer ask or say "O" No that Gun IS NOTGood Looking enough. All I know is if you go try one I do think you will like the way it Shoots. An for the Name Hell Washington do S--T Everyday I don"t approve of . Hell I am not convents our Leader is even an American. Paul in Edgewood. Happy Hunting
