Here y'all go...
I have several squirrels, rabbits, and armadillos at five or less yards. I have a big sow at 6. Bowfishing, well that's a whole 'nother story...

shot a doe right at the base of my ladder stand one time on my Nebraska hunt....nothing beats the rush of getting a deer that close to you and being able to arrow it.

3 point a couple of years ago at less than five yards. I was in my DB 360 and it was a cold morning. Could see his "breath" every time he exhaled.
I had a doe once stick her nose thru the window trying to figure out what I was, and she took off like a shot when I swatted her.

Javelina at 3 yards in Laredo. I had been stalking a group of them, they split on each side of the sendero into the brush. I walked up to where they split and knelt down on the side of the road to wait. One tried to sneak back across the road and poked his head out right in front of me- shot him dead between the eyes with a 4 blade Muzzy.

racoon @ 12 yds... that's how far it is from bow blind to feeder. I don't practice much so I'm set up for a "sure thing".
Still hunting I actually touched a bedded down doe with an arrow once, must have been a yearling with the fawn "stay there and stay still " mentality still in her mind.

Last year I was walking back from the blind and I saw some deer coming through the trees. I layed down behind a log and watched them walk right passed me. Within 10 ft. After they passed me I put my head up and turned my head their way and they saw me and ran off about 30 yards. Would have shot one but can't shoot doe.
Its not a shot story but its the closest I've been to a wild deer.

Ishot a turkey at 2 yards... I seriously thought abut stabbing it with my arrow instead of using my bow.

Closest 12feet straight down on a doe, from a treestand. Have shot severa bucks with a rifle within 10 yards.
lf the saying "Liar, Liar your pants on fire" were true Mainstream news might be fun to watch

When shooting straight down from your stand and killing a deer with a bow, what kind of shots (vitals damaged) are you aiming for and making? Spine shot?

trying to make an exit right between the front legs through the pumphouse. with a big nice hole on the bottom, if you don't get any spine, it makes a textbook blood trail that a 3 year old can follow.

All my shots are as close as I can get them. I've had them stick their nose in my ground blind (didn't shoot that one). Shot one about 5 feet from the tree I was shooting from.
