Many years ago, a friend and I used to do alot of shooting and we were buying and trading guns on a regular basis.
He bought a .36 caliber BP revolver and I believe we shot it one afternoon then I think he traded it the next week.
It was fun but it was messy to load(you were supposed to put gun lube in each chamber after you loaded the cylinder to prevent accidental ignition)and was impractical for anything other than a novelty.
Others may have different opinions, but I still remember our experience from over 30 years ago and I don't think things have changed that much.
