Any of you know of a ranch in Texas with a good breeding population of Sambar Deer available for hunting? (preferably along the Gulf Coast)

Pioneer ranch near Galveston has them, but think that's just a family/corporate place.
I've been putting in for the Fl. draw the last couple years, no luck yet

Pope Bros. has advertised Sambar in the past, you also need to check ads for Rusa, it's the same animal.
for every stereotype there's a prototype don't be the prototype

I'll stick with my statement http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sambar_deer there is less difference then there is amongst the various Cervus (Elk, Red Deer, Sika)species. The various Cervus species are grouped as a genus. The Rusa are grouped as subspecies.

After some more reading I'll agree they're different Rusa Timorese vs Rusa Unicolor Unicolor.
