I am new to bow hunting and I am looking for a bow to learn to shoot with. What is the best entry level bow (under 600) complete setup. I would like to shoot on a regular basis for a year then I dont mind speending top dollar for a bow. Any help would be appreciated.
thanks

If you want new, I've heard good things about Mission bows. I got a great deal on my first, a used mathews loaded, under 600. It's a couple years old, but it still is a great bow. Best thing to do is go to a bow shop and shoot different ones, let them fit you, check your draw length, weight pull, etc.
Early to bed, early to rise, hunt all day and make up lies.

I suggest buying a quality used bow set-up. You should be able to get a Mathews Drenalin, or along those lines, fully set-up ready to go for $600 & have a QUALITY entry level set-up.

Mission is a great bow, and if you have family members, you can pass it down. Craze is a big seller.

I was just in this situation, guys at the shop recommended mission bows as well. I had a little higher starting point, so I was looking at the Riot/Voyager. It is not the bow that hurts, it is the accessories that run up the cost.
Good luck. Search this forum and any other source you can for information on the accessories.

I bought maxima hunter 350. I can use them for hunting and target. They were reasonably priced and I got good feed back on them. Reasonably priced in the grand scheme of what arrows cost.
Heard good things about easton too.

I currently have Easton's, haven't killed with one yet but it hits the target every time, though sometimes not where I want it too

My first bbow was a PSE BruteX. Very smooth, quiet and fast shooting bow and ready to hunt for around 500 bones!

Bear is a great starter bow. you can get a brand new one totally ready to shoot for 399. Gold tip for Carbons and Eastons if you want to shoot Alum. I would stick with a 100 grain tip Fixed blade. Muzzy MX 3 or MX 4

The best starter bow is the one the feels best if your hands.

I currently have Easton's, haven't killed with one yet but it hits the target every time, though sometimes not where I want it too Eastons are good arrows the Axis are the top notch for hunting....shoot them on both of my bows, and have had nothing but success out of them. they are smaller diameter for better penetration(with the right broadhead), and i always get passthrus out to 40 yards with my setup.

entry level bow or highend bow does not matter if it is not comfortable when you are holding it you will never get as good as you possibly could and more likely to get frustrated. Suggestion go to a bow shop ( cabelas, basspro, smithfields) and touch them, and shoot them that way you know what best fits you. Cause who knowsyou may get the cheapest bow out there and become the greatest shot in the world.

Shoot some and try them at a pro shop. I found my bowtech assassin was unbeatable for the price.
