For a backstory, I'll say this....I've never met a gun I didn't like. BUT, I have LOVED this one for years.
My brother in law had it custom built. He is a legendary deer slayer with an incredible knowledge of ballistics. Unfortunately, he suffered a brain stoke early last year (he's fine now and has even gotten back in the blind for a good old fashioned neck shot on a doe).
Before his stroke, he temporarily left the Great State of Texas, chasing a woman to Ohio, and sold off this gem to my father in law. He has been holding this beauty in his Marine Corps Iron Clutches since then, knowing I've been salivating over it since the first time I saw it.
It took a clean flat top AR, and a gorgeous S&W 686 .357mag to make the trade sweet enough for me to pry it out of his hands.

She is a Custom. Trued Rem 700 action, on a Schillen bull barrel (ceramic coated) with integrated muzzle brake, McMillian overmold stock, wearing a Zeiss Conquest 4X16X44, chambered in .257 Weatherby Mag.

Enjoy.

Took her out today. These are the first two shots out of the case. 200 yards

And took the 7 year old to dial in his .243, he's quite pumped about the possibility of harvesting his first doe this year.

I have to wear sunglasses into the woods, because the deer would recognize me, an just surrender with their hooves up.

Because you can reach out and touch em with it!
