i went and got my new super combo today at wally world. I then decided to buy 12 boxes of 28 ga shells. The lady behind the outdoor said she could only sell me 6 boxes. I thought she was joking because they had full cases of shells out for sell. So I asked if I could buy a full case and she said yes and thats different than buying individual boxes. I started laughing really thinking she was pulling my leg. Nope she was serious. She pointed to a sign that said you could only buy 6 boxes of rifle and pistol ammo per costumer. I tried to tell her that shot gun shell are not rifle of pistol ammo but it fell on deaf ears. So beware if you try and stock up before dove season at wally world.
this was in Rockwall by the way.

Wally World has some real winners. Some of their other rules are crazy also, but at least the ammo is not made in China as far as I know

I think most of us could tell some stories, about the folks of Wally World that work the sporting goods counter.

Remember the one that told a customer they could fire a 30.06 round out of a 30.30?

At least we expect the shells to have lead in them!

Not just Wally World, the gene pool as a whole is showing evidence of excessive inbreeding.

They started the 6 box thing during the whole obama scare when people were snatching up ammo right and left and buying their entire stock.

I think they have seen some returns of this

Have you ever had one count change back to you. I doubt they know how to count past six.

Do us all a favor and stay out of wal-mart. Have not been in there in 3 years and will not go again.

I bought two case of 12 Gauge Number 8 Shot, they were $2.99 a box because that is what the sign said, so it cost me $6.15 for 1000 Rounds because a case is a box.

Thanks Walmart...

Worst part I even tried to explain it to the cashier and, he actually told me to read the sign... He said it real slow like I was the dumb one...

never understood that. . .

they're all for sale so what's
the blankety-blank difference
who hands them the money?

he-he!
item costs 4.50 total and you
hand 'em a five and they have
to look at the ### register to
know how much change to give
back.

aaaaaaa-maze-ing! ! !

Whatever you do don't buy your license at Wally world. I have yet to see one person who knows what the heck to do. I just buy them online now through TPWD.

I experienced the 6 boxes of rifle and pistol ammo per costumer part of your story in the past. When I questioned it I was told buyers were reselling it at gun shows. I don't know if Walmart really cares what happens to the ammo after it is sold and leaves the store. I do think it is goofy that you can buy more if you buy it as a case.

Charles Daly plays golf. - I always think the same thing, why would you put the name of a drunk golfer with anger problems on a shotgun.

Maybe some of you guys should go to work at Wal Mart - sounds like they could use your help! Then maybe you too can work for minimum wages and be an expert in the field of ammunition!

Must be a local thing. I bought a case of 20's and 12 individual boxes of AA 12's at my Wal Mart with no questions asked. Of course, I'm in a small town...

I bought a shotgun from wal mart when I turned 18, and they wouldn't sell me shells because I wasn't 21...when I tried to immediately return the shotgun, they said sorry, all firearm sales are final...I never even left the counter. Talked to four people trying to buy shells, and they would not budge.

At least you guys can find someone working in sporting goods. I stopped by to buy a license and was told the guy working there was on lunch break... come back in 30 min. Haven't been back to wally world since.
