Anybody ever hunt deer or hogs there? Is there a lot of people that go out there and is the hunting any good?

Haven't hunted either one there but have seen both while duck hunting. there are some big bucks there and plenty of hogs. That was on the Richland Chambers WMA

As far as deer hunting, is it drawn hunt or can anybody with permit and license hunt there?

it is drawn only. . .
use to be a hell of a place,
but they wanted to raise the
next hagerman buck, so they
clamped down to where you
couldn't archery hunt.
the north side is now a wetland
refuge type thing,which i don't
object to, but they would rather
nobody that pays the tab get a
chance to enjoy the benefits
of our tax dollars and license
and permit fees.
you can try to draw hunt if you
send in your card, it's 130.00
or 150.00 or something like that
if you're drawn for your category.

good luck- i won't see you there
cuz i won't go

Well I won't be sending in any more money to tpwd. I pay enough already like everybody. With all the money the get they still can't keep state parks open or the restroom facilities open on some major lakes and parks. But yet license fees go up seems like every 2 to 3 years. Thank you tpwd

Don't blame TPWD. The state keeps cutting their funding, and the money has to come from somewhere.
I've never hunted Richland Chambers, but I've seen pictures of some very nice deer taken there.

i sure don't blame tpwd. . .

there a a few there that would like
to have the ultimate high and wide
come from there to overshadow hagerman
and stand back and say "this buck was
the product of my management tecniques"

i don't think i'm at all wrong in
stating that

most likely plenty still there.
after they f***** it up, i washed
my hands of the place and ain't
been back. there are(used to be)
hogs i've seen there that you
couldn't move by yourself.
it fell on deaf ears back then
that feral hog on that place
(any wma in my opinion)should
be 365-any legal means. their
logic was that if someone saw
the big buck, that it would be
too tempting to shoot. it was
pointed out that it was already
illegal to gun harvest a deer
other than drawing hunt. you
can't tell 'em anything cuz
their minds made up. b.t.w
usta be r.chambers wma and
g. engling wma had tax payer
paid professional hog trappers
come in and give a try at
the hogs. great use of our license
and permit fees huh ?

Deer and hogs and poachers in that area like no other. I used to have a lease that butted up next to it.
