That cat will kill WAY more fawns and turkey poults than he ever will coons. As was said above, there are a lot easier meals than coons for him and he will take advantage of those first.

Best advise is to remove him.

I didn't learn this by seeing it on TV, I learned it by doing it.

60% of all fawns killed by a predator are by coyotes. and skunks kill more wild birds, quail and turkeys. They eat the eggs.
Bobcats take very few fawns or turkeys. There main diet is mice.

That is most likely true. However, my point was that they will kill more of what you want on your place, like fawns, turkeys, quail etc than they will coons.

They may kill and eat young coons but a big boar or sow coon is probably more trouble than it's worth to them.

Mice are the main staple of their diet but they will kill turkeys and fawns, and are quite good at it.

Two or three years ago I guided a man on a whitetail/ turkey hunt, south of Sweetwater Tx. After bow shooting taking a nice Tom, we waited till dark hoping for a big buck. When we got to the feeder, the turkey was gone. We watched this turkey expire and lay there for over 45 minuets. After looking for a few seconds I spotted some eyes looking back at us from up the road. It was a big 25+ lb bobcat with a turkey in his mouth, sitting on his butt. We eased up and my hunter was able to take the bobcat with his bow also. Pretty cool to watch! He had a mount of the bobcat with the turkey in his mouth.. I'll try to find the pics.

i like bobcats.

we had one that would hunt a feeder and chase around quail and doves.

i'm not against shooting them but they are not in the same league as coyotes.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Whoa. Things are gettin a little personal!

I shot 2 last year. I think they do more harm than good. I doubt they'd go after a big nasty coon when they could take out a fawn, rabbit, small deer, or turkey.

I like bobcats and generally give them a pass. I did shoot a nice tom for a mount, but other than that, they are free to roam.

If I began too see too many I would have to shoot. Other than that they can walk as they please.
