He may not need a flash if he has either other secondary (and softer) lighting. He might also just use a slower shutter speed to gather more of the natural light. its this one i question has no fill flash. Maybe the moon? anyhow.. my dream is to one day add a f2.8 400mm lens to use while sitting in my stand during the boring times. that would rock.

jaymz, i'm no expert but i could have sworn I saw or read somewhere that even with little light a high end camera and lense can capture/gather enough light with the shutter being left open. Thats how photogrphers can grab such great pictures of the night sky. I would imagine any object would also help reflect light on itself and surrounding area. Since there is nothing else in the area but the tree it looks like it's being lit up. Just a guess though.

that's where tripods, shutter releases, good lenses, all come in handy. Amazing Talent. I've got a few smiliar to the first 2, though no where near as good, from when we went to some of the caverns.
Early to bed, early to rise, hunt all day and make up lies.
