I just bought one last month & it is currently sitting on top of my new .300 win mag. Great glass! I built this rifle to take to Africa next June & I couldn't be happier with my decision.

Have a 3.5-10 and have had it for years, dependable scope with pretty good glass.

I have two, not as good as the "great" glass, but overall good scopes. I'd say theyre along the lines of the upper end Leupolds

How good is the field of view just after the sun drops, in comparison to the Leupold VX3?

If you're talking light transmission they are about the same, but don't even compare to a Swaro.

Conquest and Leupy VX3 will be simular in light transmission. If comparing Ziess to Swaro the upper end Ziess will compare real well with Swaros of simular price range. Conquest is the entry level Ziess, still very good quality scopes.

Most times if the light is that low it's illegal to hunt deer then anyway..I took my Zeiss Conquest 3X9, 6X24Burris, 3X10 Mark
3 Leupold at Dark to Tarpley to a field to test once...The Burris
was as clear as the others at 10PM and I could see deer at 200yds
across a pasture will all..The Zeiss was a little clearer on 3X.
But w/one's RAW EYE..it would have been hard to judge..Unless Varmit hunting or Hog Hunting there is really no reason to have
much clearer glass than that....and I also have some high end scopes that perform slightly better, but not enough to justify the $ thousand or more that they costs..DD

I did a similar test with Nikon, Burris and Zeiss. The Zeiss had the best clarity in the daylight for my 69 yr old Dad. But, the Burris has the best clarity 30 minutes after sun down.

If you don't have poor eye sight and don't want to shoot over 200 yards, I think the Burris FullFieldII is the best scope for the money. But, if you have poor eyesight, the Zeiss is worth the extra $100 for the Conquest. Again, I don't shoot over 200 yards and I don't spot light.

I'm mostly a Leupold guy, but the Burris FFII 4.5-14 I put on my 260 has impressed the heck out of me. I made some real late shots last season (successful) on pigs and coyotes. The windage and elevation knobs aren't as finely made as those on my Leupolds, but that isn't a problem at all. I can't compare it to a Zeiss and maybe it isn't quite as good glasswise as my VariX III Leupolds, but there isn't much difference.

I've got a 3-9x40 that I've had for a little better than 2 years and have been very pleased with it. Just received my second Zeiss, a 4.5-14x50 Rapid-Z 800, from Red Hawk Rifles. Ordered it online last Sunday afternoon and it was delivered yesterday. I'm thinking all my scopes from here on out will be Zeiss. up Plus their customer service and warranties are great. My brother and I both had a pair of Zeiss binoculars that were about 10 yrs old. They fogged on us during our bear hunt in Alaska. When we got home I called Zeiss, they said it shouldn't have happened and told me to send them in to them. About 5 weeks later we each received a brand new pair that sell at the stores for 699.00 each. Can't beat a deal like that.

I have the Conquest on every one of my rifles replaced all of my Leupolds a couple of years ago. The early and late light these scopes bring in is impressive for the money and no contest with my old Leupolds.
