First the white wings started crowding out the mourning doves, and then these ringnecks crowded out the whitewings. They are big and beautiful. I guess you can kill them anytime like other exotics, but I don't know for sure.

I like them, they eat just as good as a mourning dove, just bigger.

I'd just assume they crowd out the whitewings and mourning dove. Then you could hunt year round!
A lot more meat on them than a whitewing.

Shoot em anytime of the year, can be killed by any means, and eat the same as any dove.

Good eating. Perfectly legal to hunt right now. Unless TPWD sees my comment and the universe wants to prove me wrong.
Go ahead and buy a Beeman or some air gun.

If you live in a neighborhood be sure to get the Gamo Silent Cat (got a silencer on it). Neighbors don't hear a thing when I pop those collared dove. Although they did get suspicious when I built a backstop on the bird feeder.

My gamo hornet loves them Eurasians. A shot in the back saves the meat and drops him in his tracks. And they taste exactly the same as regular dove.

When did it become legal to hunt within city limits, neighborhood or subdivision within an incorporated area of the county? Might want to be careful on what you do or put on the internet.

Can you throw some corn out in a pasture to bait them since they're evasive?

I live in the country where I still have a little freedom. I've built a 100 yd. range I can shoot from my front porch. So far I've spared the doves because they're pretty. Here's what was in front of my 1oo yd. backstop this morning

I wouldn't think it would be considered hunting in the city. Do they consider it hunting when you kill a mouse? Just tell them you are safely removing an invasive pest to make room for the native wildlife. They shouldn't care if the carcasses of said invasive pest ends up on the grill...

They are pretty and very docile around humans. They are generally in pairs and hang out around pigeons when they are in the same areas.

Just tell them you are safely removing an invasive pest to make room for the native wildlife. They shouldn't care if the carcasses of said invasive pest ends up on the grill... That won't fly since any exotic species requires a valid hunting license except for feral hogs depredating ones property. Rats/mice are vermin, Eurasian doves are no different than pigeons requiring a valid hunting license or anyone regardless of age. Nongame and Other Species Nongame Animals Includes, but is not limited to the following: Armadillos* Bobcats* Coyotes* Flying squirrels Frogs Ground squirrels Mountain lions Porcupines Prairie dogs Rabbits Turtles •Does not include feral hog (see Exotic Animals and Fowl). •No closed season. These animals may be hunted at any time by any lawful means or methods on private property. Public hunting lands may have restrictions. A hunting license is required. Exotic Animals and Fowl Exotic animal refers to grass-eating or plant-eating, single-hoofed or cloven-hoofed mammals that are not indigenous or native to Texas and are known as ungulates, including animals from the deer and antelope families that landowners have introduced into this state. Includes, but is not limited to feral hog, Aoudad sheep, Axis deer, Elk, Sika deer, Fallow deer, Blackbuck antelope, Nilgai antelope, and Russian boar. Exotic fowl refers to any avian species that is not indigenous to this state, including ratites (emu, ostrich, rhea, cassowary, etc.). There are no state bag or possession limits or closed seasons on exotic animals or fowl on private property. It is against the law to: •Hunt an exotic without a valid hunting license. •Hunt an exotic on a public road or right-of-way. •Hunt an exotic without the landowner's permission. •Possess an exotic or the carcass of an exotic without the owner's consent. Penalty: A person who violates these laws commits an offense that is a Class A Parks and Wildlife Code misdemeanor ($500-$4000 and/or up to one year in jail). Since you live in Garland, call up the game wardens there and ask them if a license is required or not.

Question, if I have a valid license, can I shoot them in my backyard with an air gun?
I have a license and it is private property
