Some folks were talking about a mosquito repellant thing you put on your belt. Who makes the best one. It must be sent free. Thanks for your help.

Thermocell, once you start using it you'll never want to try anything again. I've had deer walk right under my stand while I was using one.

I have a thermacell and use it,but how do they work the way they do? I can smell it, so I know deer can, so why doesnt it spook them?

Thermacell is great. KWood_TSU. you only smell it because it is right on top of you. If you were to place it about 10-15 ft away you wont smell it and the deer dont smell it because you are above them usually and far enough away.

Problem is, they don't seem to mind the smell. I literally have had deer and hogs walk within 10 feet of me with it on.

Thermacells are great but I don't think they are intended to hang from your belt- supposed to lay flat.

I think they do smell it but the smell is nothing that they realate to danger. Bingo! It probably blends with other smells they are familiar with.

They also offer earthscent mats, bought several at Wallyworld and before someone sounds off, they are not for cover scent just another scent for hunters to use as a repellant
