Went out this am at around 6 and set up the Foxpro about 80 yds away from us in the same exact spot we called the last group from. Played "Feeding Hogs 2" for a couple mins then switched to "Sparring Boars". 2 mins later this bigun came charging in and hunting buddy shot him with his 270. Hornady Superformance 130 SST at 100 yds through the shoulder and he was done. No exit wound though.

Aggie,
The Foxpro you have, did it come witht the 2 different hog calls, or did you buy them separately? I bought them off Foxpro's website. My call is the Spitfire and it only holds 24 calls, so I just replaced some of the ones I would never use with 4 for hogs. THose 2 calls have worked everytime so far though.

It also helps that I know where they bed down during the day so I just set up about 150-200 yds away. If it sounds like a fight is breaking out the dominant boar is gonna come check it out to defend his terrirtory ( at least thats my assumption).

Aggie,
I have a similar situation, in knowing where they bed down. I think this calling thing is just what is needed. Thanks for posting the info.

What time of day are you having success? How long did it take for the pigs to get to you?

All 4 times it has taken less than 5 mins or so but like I said I know they are bedded down in a big thicket a couple hundred yards away. When they come in they are pizzed off and wanting to fight so they aren't really warily chekcing things out and taking their time. As far as time of day: the first 2 we called in were about 8 or 9 am, next time we called in about 4 adults and a dozen piglets at midnight, and this trip it was around 6:30 am or so.

I am curious, I have a spot we have been baiting and they are coming in at a fairly regular time. If I put out my call a bit early do you think it would deter them or get them in quicker?

Not to detour from your awesome story but that is a NICE rifle.

You say you have only tried it 4 times Aggie but 4 for 4 is a pretty good percentage where I come from. I will have to try this. Thanks for the great story.
If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.
