Just set my new feeder up last week and the Honeybees are all over it. Put regular corn in it (Not the super corn kernels). The are knocking the corn off the spinner plate, also all over the corn on the ground? Anybody else have this happen? Do not want to kill them, lots of wild plum thickets & other things they pollinate!

Had the same thing happen last year to a protein feeder. They pulled about 100 pounds out in just a couple of days. They ended up leaving after about a week. I was a bit nervous the first time filling it back up in case they set the hive in the barrel.

Seen it happen with apple scented corn or protein but not on regular corn.

Had it happen this year just a couple of months ago. However, I was using a mix of protein and apple scented corn as stated above.
I also had Acorn Rage and Buck Candy mixed in as well. So any of the above listed items probably contributed to my issues. Not sure about yours if was only regular corn.

I've seen em empty two feeders in a week. I was told in drought conditions flowers are not producing pollen needed to make honey and they use the corn dust like pollen. I can't say it's wrong or right but I went with it. They will leave out soon.
