Depends on where you're at..... could be flatlands with cotton, in an oil patch, or in the canyon country
It's hard to feel sorry for someone with one leg who shoots themself in the foot.

Our place is just North of Lake J.B. Thomas, it's mostly woodsy (If you can call it that in West Texas). Just looking to scout my bow hunting location and to probably do some predator/hog hunting on Saturday.

There are some decent deer in that area and some good size hogs. Lots of dove.

Lake J.B Thomas is not much of a lake anymore. It has pretty much all dried up. I believe the only water left in it is in front of the dam.

Northern Scurry can be productive for deer. Mostly cotton fields near Snyder.
Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it. Don't text and drive.

Yeah the lake isn't much of one, but still serves as our comfort from home bathroom... haha
I've been hunting out there for 3 years now and just wanted to get an update from someone up there to see what is happening with the deer and other animals.

Yeah it is a shame that is drying up. For being an older lake it had some really good fishing in it. A really nice population of legal size crappie. Probably 9 out of 10 crappie that I caught out of that lake were keepers.

Yeah, about two months ago there were some people in the water with nets hearding the fish towards the banks. Game warden caught them and let them know that what they were doing was illegal. He let them do it anyways because he said it was better they take them than let them waste because all the fish were going to die before long anyways.

I've been hunting SE Scurry County for the past 11 years. We lost about 50% of the herd last year to the drought. This year its been much better. Everything is still pretty green and it should be a good year for horns. Still not many quail around and still too many hogs. I shot this buck in 2010.
Silver spurs and gold tequila keep me hanging on. Pretty girls and old cantinas give me shelter from the storm.
