How effective is this with mallards if it is 2-3 feet under the surface?

3 ft would be difficult for a mallard to reach I would think.

You need some water, it does best when wet. It will not last long like that.

You obviously didn't talk to the young lady, you'll know her when you see her, 78 cent's a pound for the 3 tons I bought.

Thats Rachel, Tracy was distracted and the computer was goofing up so maybe they just botched mine.

When I seen it do best is when it sprouts, then floods over it but still sticking out, and it is still hot, it goes nuts. You really need the perfect storm it seems for it to do well. I planted it 4 years in a row, I think this year I will pass..

Needs to be pretty soggy mud and it will still need a little water every so often.

If you throw on dry dirt no, throw on a mud flat yes, it will germinate and sprout.

Our best hunts are about a week after it all lays over or floods over. The aquatic invertebrates explode= protein = ducks.

Not much, 150 lbs max. I planted that too thick, or the dead heads would have been bigger.

Those pics were 2009, and my best I ever did planting. If you do not enjoy planting it and the challenge of it, probably not worth it. Especially my lease, I do not have mallards, they are the only ones that eat it per my first question to Rob. If you are in mallard country, more reason to plant it.

Also I never know if my land owner is gonna have to let his horses graze here, so that is another deterrent for me. Last year his horses and cow at it all, that sucked.

Rob. Please confirm that that is not yours. It is the state of Oklahoma's. Otherwise, I'm gonna have to hate you.

If you put it in water a couple inches deep will It still grow. I have a couple ponds and a small lake I'm just trying to figure out where to plant it and how much. I guess it's a no go if there are cows in the pasture?
