I wanna hunt some coyotes but what do you do with them after you kill them? I don't think id mount one, wouldn't eat it, so what do you do with it? Im guessing you can sell the fur but thats about it right?

Too hot to sell right now fur is too thin, full of fleas, mange, and ticks also. Kill em and toss em for the buzzards.

If you don't want to do a full a full body mount, you could do a shoulder mount or even a Euro mount. Beam Taxidermy out in Kempner/Lampasas does pretty work. Euro mount is about the only thing to do with them this time of year. Winter time, say about January-February is the best time for the fur, for mounting or selling.

Don't let that stop you though. If you get a chance to kill one, do it.

I didn't learn this by seeing it on TV, I learned it by doing it.

I would say skin em and use em as bait for other coyotes but I'm not sure if they would eat em

Kill'em', kill'um all. Damn calf eaters.

Start a trophy tree, wire the back legs together and hang um from your favorite tree. It's a natural dried kinda thing. You can pick up the skulls latter. As others have said, right now is poor pelt time. But throw the skull on a ant mound & come back later, if ya want the head.
But make damn sure it's a slam dunk kill shot as they get smart quick!

Hornady V-Max, now we're smokin' song dogs !!
Then again, just put lead their azz & I'll gladly finish the cripples.

I leave them for the hogs and leave the hogs for the coyotes. Trying to balance the ecosystem.

We got every where from $5 to $90 & averaged $27 per coyote pelt last year.
those where harvested in mid winter & skinned, fleshed, stretched & fried & sent inot fur auction.
this time of year they are not worth anything.
