I usually use whatever is in the truck at the time. Mostly a .223 or a 7mm. Its fun to shoot them in the head at 200-300 yards with a little gun

Great input. I've read this thread with interest.
I have yet to shoot a hog. I have trapped 2, but someone beat me to the traps & finished them off - then called me to say I had a hog. The only others I have seen live were when I was taking a pee outside my hunting trailer early one morning. Sneaky creatures.
My "go to" rifle off-season is a .22 magnum. Because it was cheap and is accurate.
The .308 is a nice caliber. I'm trying to sell one for my brother, but it hasn't drawn much attention. I may buy it from him just to say I shot one. That is one caliber I don't have.

Main rifles I use for hogs are 6.8 SPC, .44 Mag, 7mm-08.

I use an AK (7.62 x 39mm) and it does just fine. My bolt action rifles just didn't throw out enough lead fast enough.
JR what's the bullet weight? I used 155gr. SP 123 grain JR

I shoot them with what ever is on hand at the time, but my go to is my 22-250. I also frequently use my 308 and 204.

Whatever I have with me at the time. That would consist of a 17hmr, 30-30, .243, PSE EVO,etc.
I avoid Dick's and hope they fold.

I've dropped pigs with a .17, a .375 H&H, and lots of stuff in-between. My favorites for the last few seasons have been a Matthews, a .35 Rem. (lever guns are just fun), and a .257 WBY...
and for the sake of honesty I've miss pigs with a few different guns as well...

Depending on your intent and individual prefrence you may wish to
go w/a Deer Rifle or maybe something like a Ruger Ranch Rifle..I've killed hogs w/everything imagineable, but if I were shooting them at a feeder, I'd want one of my better rifles from
22-250 on up...Just remember, if they aren't too old and stinky,
they are good eating..pay attention to shot placement..DD
