I am looking for a sure fire way to keep hogs out of my feeder pen. I haven't tried cattle panel yet but was wondering if there was any other way. Seems like there are fewer deer with the big boars at the feeders

Use hog panel, not cattle panel.

Use hog panel, but make it a big pen. The larger the pen is the more deer can feed at once and they don't seem as nervous in larger pens. The panels don't have to be real tall, 2 or 3 ft off the ground will keep out most hogs and allow smaller fawn and doe to jump in. If the ground is soft sink the panel at least 6" to keep the hogs from digging under.
Made mine out of cattle panel, sank it about 15", so it's alittle over 3ft high. It's 50x50 and I wish it was bigger. It's worked great, had one boar that learned to climb it, so he got shot. I've seen some piglets get through the larger holes in the cattle panel, but when mama can't figure out how to get in they leave with her. Been thinking about getting more panel and making mine 100x100.

Dig a 10 foot deep moat and fill it with bacon eating bubbas. Or hog panels.

The problem with cattle panel is that the little ones can crawl through it and eat the corn. The smaller (squares) side of the hog panel keeps them out. Hog panel is 34" tall. It has always worked well for me.

they make a combo panel that is a little taller than the hog panels. I used them because I was concerned cows would think they could step over the hog panels and I didn't want to pay for a vet bill or have damaged panels.

I use cattle panels. For cattle. It's also effective on the hogs but I want them in.

hog panel is fine..iv never had a problem with the cattle...you could always put a pig pipe outside the pen to keep them occupied

nothing beat hog panel. Although I've got one pen that the cows must have gotten into. one side is crushed. I also run a single strand of barbed wire around the top to keep cows from "necking" over the top.

Hog panels and steel poles. Make sure you connect them in at least 3 places on each pole, and make sure you have no more than 4 feet between poles, make sure everything is taut.

I took 4' high hog panels, cut them to 2' and surrounded my feeder. One of my game camera watches constantly & I've seen hogs around the feeder area but never in it. With the 2' height (the main perimeter is made of 3 strands of barbed wire and t-posts), I can step through easily to tend the feeder.
