I just started reloading and I could use a little help. I am working up some test loads for my CZ550 American 6.5x55. I am using 140 gr Hornady SST's, Norma brass, and Fed 215 primers. I meant to get some IMR 4350 but picked up H4350 by mistake. I have read that I can interchange these, is that correct? Next question: The Hornady 7th edition manual lists a max load of 41.4 gr of IMR 4350. This is a reduced load for the old military actions. I plan on working up slowly starting out at about 38.5 gr, but I am just wondering how far past the listed data some of you guys would go. Thank you for any help.

Mine shoots that load pretty dang good I can shoot half dollar size groups at a 100 yards the rifle could probably do better than that but I'm no sniper by any means I haven't experimented much with different loads for mine that load I mentioned was satisfactory for me so I stuck with that one you might try some different loads that shoot better I killed an 18 point that scored 173 last year with mine last year with those nosler 125 partitions it wasn't a very long shot I'd say about 80 yds but it ground checked that sucker so I didn't see a need to change loads that's just my opinion

I use 125 Partitions with 45 grains of H4350 in my 6.5x55. It has a 26 inch barrel on a turkish action.

Thanks for this info guys, I too am a newbie reloader, but have this exact rifle (love it) as well as 3 Milsurp Swedes. Looking forward to reloading, for them (seperately). Have Sierra 140gr and just got some Hornady 120 and 140gr bullets as well

I am hoping to get out to the range by the end of the week. I'll give a report on how it went. Thanks for the help.
