Anyone use them before? I left 3 rams with him and 1 is for shoulder mount and 2 Euros. I have emailed him a few times and not getting replies. Next I will call. Just wondering if others have used him? Oh and he did cash my $400 dep.

I dropped off an oryx with Josh the first week of February. I spoke to him in May, and he said everything was still on track. I sent him a text last week, but never heard back from him. Maybe I should give him a call, too? My oryx is supposed to be done by late this month or early August. Let me know if you hear from him.

I shot an Oryx at DB in March and after I shot the Oryx (bad shot) it took off and we couldn't find it. Danny found it the next day, but the hide was no good. Josh had an extra hide from Danny so I had my oryx taken there. I sent Josh a couple of emails and didn't hear from him. I called Jake at DB and he called Josh and I heard back in about an hour. He doesn't appear to be good at communicating which will kill his business. He seems to be a nice guy and I know this taxidermy is side work but I won't be taking anymore there. Will be sticking with two other taxis that have been great to deal with. Gary Broach at Rhodes has done great work and I am having everything from Africa sent to Billington Ranch Taxidermy. Two top notch outfits!

I have done it before and never again will I ever use a part time taxidermist. Seems like dang near every single one of them have a history of being shady.

I think he is fine, the guy just got married and I think that kind of got things a little behind. He does great work give him a chance on communicating...

Well update. I talked to him a little of 3 weeks ago and was told part of my stuff will be done in a week which was 2 weeks ago. Have been calling/Texting/Emailing and no calls or anything back. Sad thing is he has 2 of my ram euros and my 3rd ram for a shoulder mount and $400 deposit.

I literally just exchanged texts with Josh about 15 min. ago. He told me my oryx mount should be finished soon. Let's hope that's the case.

I contacted DB ranch and they are going to try and see what is up. What number are you using? I have 1-512-992-5181 that is the number I was using to talk to him before.

How bout leaving the guy alone. When he is done he will call. That's usually how taxidermy works. He makes his money by completing the mount so until then he has no reason to contact you. Now I for one don't agree w him not communicating. But he is as human as ne of us and has possibly had stuff come up. I know I have this year.

When someone says they will have something done on a curtain time and has my money I expect it done or to AT LEAST answer in some way and say it is not not done.

Then he should have said something like "hey, I had something come up. It is going to be XXX before I get your stuff done. My apologies." Nothing worse than poor customer service except for none bang

By the way...if you are a taxidermist, please let us know which one popcorn

I just got a phone call from him josh just gave me a call and we are all good. this looks like it was a misunderstanding I didn't leave a message and I called at kinda weird hours, that is a nasty habit of mine because I dont usually listen to messages I just call people back when I miss calls

@BSolomon: I talked to Josh today. He said that your euros are done and have been for a couple of weeks. You need to pick them up. PM me if you have any questions, I am more than happy to help you out. Even willing to pick them up for you a meet you somewhere...

I think Josh is a good guy, I think maybe there is a little issue with mis-communicaiton on both sides. Just letting you know. I am happy to help you get this resolved. Josh is my taxidermist and a friend as such I want to help him resolve/correct this issue on the forum and for you...

PM me with your thoughts...

This is Josh Hale with Longhorn Taxidermy. I just want to clarify that there some previous miscommunications and I am fully willing and capable of taking some resposibility. Thank you, jackg for clarifying that we had a simple miscommunication, and I'm glad we talked and everything is squared away. I have also spoken with another client who has posted on this forum, and it is my understanding that we are also squared away. Nate Nelson, thank you for your feedback.

I have listed business hours on my voicemail...please leave a VOICEMAIL or an e-mail to the address given on the voicemail, and I will stand true to those times listed. I do not want to be tagged as the "part-time" taxidremist or "shady", because I truly enjoy what I'm doing and this is my primary job. I have had numerous satisfied customers with the quality of my taxidermy work and ethics, unfortunately, everyone can't be pleased. Best Regards, Josh.

How'd your oryx mount turn out? Care to post a picture of it?
