Who's going bowhunting this weekend? Me and dad are headed back out Friday night as soon as I get off work. Hopefully the cooler weather will get the deer moving better than last weekend. Would be nice to see at least one. Even if it is out of range.

I am heading out Thursday at 11:00, picking my son up at school at Tarleton and heading to Menard to be hunting in the afternoon. Will hunt Friday and Saturday morning, too. I can't wait!

Yep....been at it on and off all week. Been seeing a few deer each day, just none closer than 40-50 yds. Here's hoping one wanders into range soon. Been thinking of moving out of the stand and onto the ground, but I'm not too sure about it. Anybody out there bow hunt without the stand?

i use a pop up blind.
It conceals you movement pretty good, and it is very portable.

I've been bowhunting public land for the past five years from the ground off a hunting stool. I just find a stand of cedars and sit behind them and cut some holes to shoot through. I've killed 3 deer in the last 3 years so I guess it's working. Every once in a while one will spot me but it can be a very challenging and interesting way to deer and hog hunt.

Have a two day fishing tournament this weekend. Lease and camphouse only about 20 minutes from Lake Leon so might have to fish one day and hunt the other. This front should really get things moving.

I had planned to wait a week, but this colder weather will have me in the tripod all day Saturday and 1/2 day Sunday. Good luck to all.

Well I am headed to whitney in the morning. This cooler weather has got me curious to see if there is any movement. I am hunting the Corps land, I hope I see more than just other hunters.
