This rattle snake figured he would take a short cut across my yard but little did he know that I had my snake huntin cats on gaurd. My wife let her little dog out and it started barking like crazy so I looked out the window to see my snake cats spring into action and bay the snake up before he could get thru the fence. I then got the 12 gauge and helped the trespasser thru the fence after separating it from its head.

I always put 1/2" x 1/2" x 24" hail screen all around the bottom of my yard fence and make sure it touches the ground everywhere. Never had a snake get in the yard with it.

I hate stepping out on the porch at night to talk on the phone or to answer the call of mother nature and hear a buzz in the dark at my feet.

I'm not a cat fan, but they're amazing hunters.

When I was in high school, I gave a kitten that walked up when I was skimming our pool a hot dog. Skinny thing, I felt bad for him. He never left.

We never let him inside, but kept a food and water bowl for him. One day, I saw him acting weird through the window and went to check what he was doing. It turned out there was a very angry rattlesnake repeatedly striking at him out back. Every time it did, Oreo just dodged and smacked it with his paw. The snake would then try to get away and Oreo would cut it off and drag it back until it struck again. When he finally got bored, he pounced and bit the snake through the head killing it.

Was child's play for the cat. I wouldn't have attempted it in 1000 years.
