Wow, it really is the dog days of the off-season isn't it. A thread about what to eat after a hunt.

I usually hit up Denny's and get french toast, hashbrowns and eggs. Or go to a local diner and get buscuits and gravy.

We cook eggs, sasage or bacon and biscuits in the blind after were done hunting and go home for a good nap. X2 during duck season. But I usually cook my food during that last few mins of darkness (coldest part of the morning) and we chow down 10-15 mins before LST. Dove/archery we cook a big breakfast in the RV before we head out depending on what county we are hunting we sometimes have to grab some poptarts and "rough it" -Matt

Our weekend tradition after a morning duck hunt was eating at Sportsman's in Eagle Lake. Biscuits and gravy with bacon. .. Now we have to settle for cattleman's instead.

On the openers I'll splurge with some jalapeno jerky, pork rinds, and a couple of cold beers.
Other days my son and I will stop off at the donut shop on the way home - I get what they call "kolaches", but being half Czech I know better, it's just a pig in the blanket with jalapeno sausage.
Those hunts during the week I don't stop to eat, gotta get to work ASAP so I wait until lunch.

Anything fried! Got this one place we stop at after every hunt that's got a really good burger. Better have no place to be at anytime soon, they take their sweet time making it. Great brownies also, Kdub fell in love with them.
Jager is like liquid xanax. Wake up looking like you fell in a tiger exhibit and crawled through a leech filled swamp to get out.

Where do I get one of those double sided biscuit pans like the Duck Commander uses to cook biscuits in the blind over a propane stove?
He then puts the jelly that they made from grapes they previously picked out there and completes the circle. So funny when he said that on one of the videos. That guy has it down.

They said Owen (the guy who originally brought that biscuit maker around) wouldn't ever say where he got it. I've looked for a company or individual selling em but no luck yet. If you ever run across em, please let me know

Beckys Cafe in Columbus. Some of the hunters that went with me last year got a little taste of it.
3 breakfast tacos with ham and jalapenos, a side of white gravy to dip em in with a coffee and water. Been eating this for almost 4 years now.

Been looking for years for that one. Been told, they don't make them any more. But, we do use a cast iron dutch oven and some charcoal on top and bottom. Works real nice for biscuits or cinnamon rolls. 21 pieces of charcoal half on bottom and half on top. Little oil or butter in the bottom.
