So me and the wife are friends with a couple. We have been trying to set a date for a river float trip and can't come up with a weekend. It's mostly my wife and the woman talking about the dates. Just on sheer luck I asked my buddy to go have lunch yesterday.
One of the first things he says while we are sitting down...oh so Emily said she had the perfect weekend to do our trip....Sept 15. I shut that down real quick...opening weekend for Teal....I don't be on a tube on the river that weekend but I'll be near some kind of water.
I got really lucky that my friend must have talked to his wife before lunch and that she didnt ask my wife first. Nothing like having your wife mad at you for hunting already and it only being the first week.
I'm starting to get jacked for those little blue and green wing devils...and they are devils...make no mistake about it.
Dear Lord please bullwhip me for saying this but I agree, Marcstar is in the lead. Please nobody use this as a quote!!!

HAHA. I actually asked my sister to have her wedding on opening day of duck season in California this year. Its an evening wedding, so I figure I can hunt in the morning til about 11, then go home and get ready for the wedding.
That way I get 2 opening days: 1 in Calif, then 1 in Texas.
Boom.

I lived in CA for 4 years right after school and never hunted. Saw a ton of places but at the time I could barely afford rent much less the gear.

I'll miss that weekend this year because I'll be in Mississippi visiting my youngest brother who is at Ole Miss. They play Texas in football that day.
I think it is a fair trade off to see my brother whom I only see 2-3 times a year and I'll find a way make the Teal pay sometime during the week.

Tailgating, eating some good food, drinking some beer/booze, hanging out with friends/family....watching a good game...hell it's not much different. I love a good college football game.

Hotels sold out before they were available for booking by individuals.
