Has anyone ever dealt with these guys before? I just bought my second rifle from them. I called to check status because my check was deposited 06/19 and showed up cleared in my account today. I also called because my ffl will not accept ups, so we put in special instructions to ship usps. Wanted to confirm the instructions. The response I got from the owner Matt was unbelieveable, very rude. I know these guys are under a lot of pressure and deal with some rough people but the owner needs a better filter for when to push back.

Ordered a 300WSM from them. I was going to my deer lease that week so I spent the night at my trailer and drove on up there to pick it up. Nice drive, didn't have any real issues and beat everyones price by about $75.00. The gas cost less than the shipping and FFL fee.

I picked up my Remington 5R 308 last week in person. They are extremely nice people and the owner is cool.
I know he sells guns before he has them in hand...or maybe just ran out of that particular gun, this will cause lag time.
Give him a call, he always answered when I called and was a great guy to deal with.

Never had anything but good results with them, I know they operate on thin profit margins to offer the prices they do.
When your profit margins are thin and you deal with the volume they do, dont get suprised when they get pissed when you call up with "special needs and or demands"

Matt, you need to lighten up. You have my money and gun. I'm playing by your rules. I know you deal with a lot of jerks and thats frustrating but thats not me. You need a better filter for when to push back like this. Totally unecessary. I'm sorry youre under that kind of pressure. Thank you in advance for your help Brian On Thu, Jun 21, 2012 at 11:16 AM, Tin Star Shooting Range <sales@tinstarshootingrange.com> wrote: Mr. Allen, Your check was deposited here on the 19th. I will ship when that criteria has been satisfied regardless of what you see on your end. Please don't tell me again what your method of shipment will be. We have been over and over this point with you at nauseum. deeewayne, do you ever ask for extra ketchup with your 99 cent hamburger? maybe some extra hot sauce for your tacos?
we agreed to terms. i paid for the service. asking if we're on the same page so a gun doesnt get lost in transit is not special or a demand. why would either party get "pissed off"

I don't see him being in the wrong, if he clearly states five days for personal checks to clear. You could drive to Weatherford if you need the gun today.

Also if you start asking for extras at 99cent burger joints the staff will push back whether you know it or not...... Its not like this guy can get any satisfaction by spitting in your gun then handing it to you and watching you eat right?

I won't deal with folks who are rude. I'd take my money elsewhere next time. To me, it doesn't matter if you spend 10 cents or 2 grand, you should be treated nice. Word of mouth travels fast.
back when we used to eat housecats we marinated them in louisiana hot sauce and soy sauce then season them with lemon pepper........then onto the grill slow cooking them 3 hours........excellent folded in tortillas and pico de gallo----Newgulf

I guess I fail to see where the buyer was asking for something that was out of line.? The email he sent to tin star clearly states that the check cleared on his end and he was confirming the shipping request as well as conformation that he paid extra for the requested shipping method.
IMO the response from the seller was rude and out of line. It is a business transaction and should have been handled as such. Maybe the buyer asked the same questions or specified the shipping method too many times and irritated the seller but the seller should NEVER have let it show. Once the check cleared on his end he should have simply sent the item off with a "Thanks for the business!"
The following response was unnecessary, "Please don't tell me again what your method of shipment will be. We have been over and over this point with you at nauseum."

For what it's worth I called twice and emailed twice. One time when I won the auction and once when the check cleared. Sent what we discussed over the phone via email. The guy hung up on me too when I made my second phone call. I definitely didn't make any demands and chose my words carefully because he could make this very difficult. Im not sure a merchant should scold a customer for their method of payment either. the 5 day hold deal on a personal check is baloney. I'll gladly wait several days for people to turn things around but be honest about why it takes time The response about the shipping was unecessary I just wanted to make sure a gun wasn't lost in transit. shipping terms were agreed to before I sent the check. I was thorough and accountable I guess he wants people to send cash sit back shut up and wait
