Love those early model 22's, they never loose their appeal.

Yep and still use it more than any other rifle.
Ruger M77MKII stainless .270win Leupold Varix-III 3.5-10x40
Purchased both brand new with money from mowing lawns when I was 14-15yo had to drag my mom down to the gunshop to fill out the paper work.
Still hunt with that same rifle, although I added a Hogue stock and Timney trigger.
I own rifles that cost 2-3x more but none shoot or handle any better.

I spent my earliest years hunting deer in Mississippi with a shotgun and didn't buy a deer rifle until after I moved to Texas. For those reasons I didn't own a deer rifle until I was almost 30 years old. So needless to say, I still have it, a Remington Model 700 ADL with walnut stock.

Yep Winchester 94 in 30-30. My great uncle bought it as a gift to my dad when my dad got back from WWII. It got handed down to me when I started hunting in the mid 1960's and I've had it ever since. Also have a Winchester 22 and a Remington shotgun from the same era.
Silver spurs and gold tequila keep me hanging on. Pretty girls and old cantinas give me shelter from the storm.

Not MY first deer rifle, but I still have the rifle I killed my first deer with. it was my dad's gun, and I inherited it. I swapped off my first deer rifle years ago.
I will never get rid of my dad's rifle. I do, however, plan to get it rebuilt into a semi-custom one day. To me, guns are ultimately tools, and there are many out there that will do the job. I don't get to sentimentally attached to tools.

My first deer rifle was bought for me by by dad when i turned eleven. I know he didnt have the money to buy it but somehow made it work out. I sold the rifle for pennies on the dollar when I was in college becuase I needed the money. I still do not have the heart to tell my ole man that I sold that rifle. One of those things you wish you could take back.

We also have a model 70 stainless featherweight in .22-250 that i killed my first deer with that i'll never part with.

My dad had mostly quit deer hunting by the time I was old enough to hunt. So my first 8-10 deer were shot with my grandfather's Remington model 742 243. My uncle has it now and I'd like to buy it, but I don't see that happening.

At 13 my dad gave me a Winchester Model 70 in 30.06 w/ a Bushnell 3-9x40. That year shot a doe at 100 yds thru the neck. Still have it but she lives in the safe. Might have to use it this year. Still in great shape.

killed my 1st deer when i was 12 with my grandfathers 20 ga. ted williams, which I designated as my dove gun about 6 years ago. when i was 13, my dad decided it was time to get me a rifle and bought me a marlin 30-30. it doesn't see much use as a deer rifle anymore, but gets used every time we go flush pigs outta the deep brush. my 30-30 and my grandfathers 20 ga. are the 2 that will never leave my possession.

My first deer "rifle" was a smoothbore Browning Belgium made A-5 handed down from my grandfather to me. shot a rifled slug out of it at almost 100 yards to kill my first deer. Still have it in the gun safe today.

The first rifle I killed a deer with was a 1892 .45 colt a friend owned as we would be turned loose into the woods and be gone from sun up to dark every weekend throughout our childhood. Gone are those days of parenting.
I have my first centerfire rifle, a 7x57mm Mauser in original military form. I have never shot anything with it as it is terribly inaccurate though in good shape. I have thought about having it rebarreled and put in a nice stock, but not sure if the juice is worth the squeeze. My first deer rifle was a Kmart purchased savage 110 .243 with the cheap, package Simmons 3-9x32. I put a BSA cats eye 3.5-10x50 on years later as an "upgrade". I have got my money's worth out f that set up over the years killing deer, pigs, and tons and tons of coyotes. It still looks new for the most part. I have though about getting it rebarreled to .260 and making it a better deer rifle, but once again I don't know if that project would be a waste of time And money.

30-30 bought new at KMart, rifle, box of shells and a license, less than a $100 for every thing in 1969. I have never traded or sold a gun, still have them all. Same with my bows, I have everyone I ever bought since I bought my 1972 Bear recurve.

My first deer rifle was a Marlin 336 30-30 that I bought new in 1962. I also shot my first buck with it a year later. My son is now 33 and he shot his first buck with it when he was 9. My second deer rifle was a Winchester Model 70 .243 in 1964. I have taken many bucks with it. Both rifles still look new and shoot great!!

I still have my first deer rifle. It is a .244 (6MM) German Army Mauser that my grandfather gave me after it was converted (custom built stock) to a deer rifle.
