My son's 8th grade algebra class is studying survey data including sampling, frequency, graph evaluations, etc.
He has chosen to evaluate rifle makers most used by Texas hunters. The poll is to be fact based, so he is not asking for favorites, recommendations or opinions on what is best. Question for the poll is: Who is the maker of the rifle you carried most during the 2007-08 Texas deer season? Sorry if your's is not in the poll, the project rules limited him to 6 choices, none being other. THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING!

I thought there'd be more Savage's than that too. Winchester is surprising. I figured Rem, Savage, Browning, without Ruger as a choice...
Have your son try to look them up from school. Most schools will have "guns" or "rifle" blocked, while allowing every drug, perversion, rock band, and cult being allowed. I know one place that blocks the NRA and allows devil worshipping...

True.
But at James Bowie Schools we don't go by the liberal's rules...we even have church at school - church functions, outreaches, funerals, etc, etc.
God made rednecks for a reason and, bygawd, we pay our taxes just like everybody else!

That is a cool project, I am a math teacher but there is no way any of the kids at my school would even know what remington or savage is.

I can't vote, Ruger aint there. Between Lora and myself, we killed 7 deer this past season all with a Ruger Model 77 Ultra-lite in 257 Roberts.
I would bet the poll numbers would be different if Ruger had been included. JMO.

I bet they could tell you which pistol is the best to carry and conceal. And I am not talking about a licensed one either.

Sadly you are right Marvin. Not to many like that here but there are some. I teach at a Jr. High with 1000 kids in SA and have only found 2 that have ever been hunting.

I can't vote because I did not deer hunt this past season, but I bet if Marlin were one of the choices it would be getting a good number of votes.
Good luck on his project and kudos to the teacher for finding a way to make learning interesting.

His location says Dallas, and being a teacher of some Dallas middle school kids...well lets just say I'm not surprised. LOL!
Buy the way, they have seen a pic on my computer with my rifle laying across a deer of mine and they all ask me if it's a sniper rifle because it looks like the one on the video games. Go figure?

Remington made the action for the one that I used most last season but that's all. The barrel, stock, trigger, firing pin and shroud were all made by others so I'm not sure my entry would be legit.

Haha, let us know how well this project is received by his teacher. I love it.
Shoot straight and always carry a 7mm Remington Magnum.
